The Public Realm Information Advice Network (PRIAN) is a not for profit network of professionals from the fields of engineering, planning and urban design who are committed to enhancing the quality of the public realm and the urban experience in the UK.
First PRIAN prize given to the Seven Dials Trust for the best
Public Realm scheme which has stood the test of time
PRIAN is the new password for sound public realm implementation. Having set up the first training course which leads to a recognised qualification in the design and management of the public realm, PRIAN have now introduced their first award for outstanding achievement in the public realm. This, they are sure will help to encourage the highest of standards in the planning arena.
The winning scheme has been judged from those put forward by leading practitioners in the field, who are members of the PRIAN network.
Colin Davis coordinator of PRIAN explains “There are numerous awards for new designs. This award is for an outstanding scheme that has stood the test of time.”
Receiving the award from George Ferguson, Past President of the Royal Institute of British Architects, are the winning team, from the right David Bieda, Chairman of the Seven Dials Trust, Peter Heath, architect and town planner, designer of the ground breaking 1992 scheme, and Tim Long, Senior Transportation Planner at Camden Council.(above)
